Are you ready to make a positive impact on your community and the world at large? The Worldview Project, a dynamic 501(c)3 nonprofit, is seeking dedicated and passionate volunteers and interns to help us "Promote Greater Cross-Cultural Awareness, Understanding, and Engagement." Our motto, "Many Cultures, One Humanity," guides our mission to bridge gaps, foster inclusivity, and celebrate the rich diversity that surrounds us.
At The Worldview Project, we believe that by learning about different cultures and perspectives, we can build a more connected and compassionate world. To further this mission, we are currently seeking a Cross-Cultural Calendar Specialist volunteer or intern to join our team!
The Cross-Cultural Calendar Specialist is pivotal in developing the calendar section of our online magazine, The San Diego Participant Observer, by highlighting the diverse international and multicultural events in our vibrant city.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate and update our community calendar with a variety of multicultural events, adding about 45 new events each week (sometimes as many as 80+).
- To be culturally sensitive and culturally aware.
- Availability to volunteer mid-week (preferably Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays) to meet our weekly publishing deadline.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional dependability and a strong sense of timeliness, essential for the time-sensitive aspects of the role.
- Unwavering attention to detail and consistency in all tasks, ensuring accuracy in every aspect.
- A deep interest in cultural events and a commitment to enhancing community engagement.
- Excellent written communication skills, crucial for effectively conveying event details.
- Discerning judgment to evaluate the relevance of events to our mission and to distinguish between essential and non-essential content in listings.
- A proactive, reliable, and collaborative approach, vital for successful teamwork.
Benefits:
- Make an Impact: A chance to be at the heart of cultural exchange and diversity in San Diego.
- Grow Your Skills: Develop valuable skills in event coordination and communication.
- Be Part of a Mission-Driven Team: Join a passionate group of volunteers working to celebrate and promote cross-cultural understanding.
Additional Information:
- This is a flexible, remote-friendly role, but familiarity with the San Diego cultural scene is a bonus.
- Tell us about yourself! In your inquiry, please share your background, education, interests, and experiences.
- We do our best to reply to inquiries in a timely fashion. If you don't get a reply from us within a week, please check your spam folder.
- While this opportunity might not perfectly match your criteria, we encourage you to explore our other opportunities linked below! If you’re unsure about which role best suits you, we invite you to connect with us through our general opportunity post (Volunteer Opportunities at The Worldview Project).
