About The Worldview Project
2445 Morena Blvd. Suite 210, San Diego, CA 92110, US
The need for a greater understanding of the world's cultures is rapidly increasing as the world's social, political and economic systems become increasingly inter-dependent. American society itself is rapidly becoming more diverse and improved relations between various cultural groups and between individuals from different cultures largely depends on a better understanding of cultural differences. A greater understanding of cultures is important to all levels of human interaction, from the level of international politics and commerce to the social interactions found within cities, neighborhoods, workplaces and classrooms. In addition to improving social relations across cultural boundaries, an increased knowledge of other cultures enriches aesthetic and intellectual experience. All of the world's societies must contend with difficult social, environmental and technological problems and improved understanding of other cultures and better interactions between cultures and countries will facilitate the sharing of information and techniques that may be of great practical merit. The Worldview Project seeks to promote a better understanding of, tolerance for and appreciation of the world's cultural groups and the diverse range of cultures and sub-cultural groups that live within the United States The Worldview Project is organized as public benefit nonprofit corporation dedicated to the following general and specific purposes: * The promotion of greater appreciation, tolerance, knowledge and understanding for and between world cultures, sub-cultural and ethnic groups through the publication and distribution of educational materials. * The provision of resources and services to educators and students who wish to learn about other cultures. * The facilitation and enabling of communication between American students and students from other cultures through Worldwide Web communications. * The promotion and provision of resources for the study of cultures (Anthropology) by American primary and secondary school students as well as the general public. * The encouragement, support and publishing of writers who write about their own cultures and illustrators who employ culturally specific styles and motifs in their artwork. * Publishing support for anthropologists who want to write for a younger school readership.
