Rise up for reading. Reading Partners believes that our communities do better when all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities. By providing one-on-one, individualized reading support to students who’ve been most impacted by systemic barriers, Reading Partners seeks to disrupt educational inequity and create a brighter future where all students have the critical reading skills needed to prepare them for academic, social, and civic success.
Volunteer just over an hour per week to empower a student through reading. Reading Partners is seeking volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with students through a new online tutoring platform, Reading Partners Connects. The Reading Partners Connects program pairs one student with one volunteer tutor to meet weekly in an online learning environment. No teaching experience required and anyone over the age of 14, residing in a proximal area to this region, can volunteer. Flexible Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday volunteer times between 8am and 4pm at various school sites.
Our students will inspire you. We provide volunteers with a structured curriculum, training, and ongoing support to help you and your student succeed.

Our mission is to help children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results.
Reading Partners is a nonprofit organization that provides literacy intervention programs at Title 1 elementary schools. At each school, our program transforms a classroom into a Reading Center, and recruits community volunteers to serve as one-on-one tutors for students learning to read.
Currently, Reading Partners serves hundreds of elementary school sites nationwide, including California, Colorado, Texas, Maryland, Washington, Washington DC, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina and New York.
Volunteers work with one student for at least one semester, using a highly structured, evidence-based curriculum. No previous experience is required, as all initial training and ongoing support is provided by a Reading Partners team member, who supervises volunteers and acts as the link between our program and the school.
