Become a Beach Sweeps volunteer!
Since 1985, over 101,000 volunteers have participated in the Beach Sweeps resulting in over 160,000 volunteer hours for the environment. Volunteer efforts have resulted in 5.19 million pieces of debris removed from New Jersey's Beaches. A value for this cleanup effort has been estimated to be almost two billion dollars.

Mission Statement
Our goal is to improve the degraded water quality of the marine waters off the New Jersey/New York coast. Clean Ocean Action identifies sources of pollution and mounts attacks on each source by using scientific research, public education, and citizen action to convince our public officials to enact and enforce measures to restore and protect our ocean.
