Come plant trees to protect local streams in Frederick County, MD. With your help, we will plant 325 trees along a degraded stream, Glade Creek. The trees will filter stormwater runoff pollution and prevent excess nutrients and sediment from entering the waterway. The holes are pre-dug and this event is suitable for all-ages.
Stream-Link seeks to create meaningful volunteer opportunities. Guests will hear an educational presentation from Frederick County's "Modern Johnny Appleseed" and then plant native trees to better the environment and the community.

Mission Statement
Connecting community to conservation.
Description
Stream Link Education organizes and leads tree plantings with local community members, organizations and businesses. With the help of volunteers, we plant native trees and shrubs in the area called the riparian zone, which is the land that extends from the banks of a stream. Planting trees next to streams creates a Forest Buffer that not only removes carbon out of the air like other forests, but it soaks up stormwater, chemicals, excess nutrients, sediments, and more before they enter into our streams, rivers, and ultimately end up in the Chesapeake Bay.
