Lighthouse Central Florida is looking for community minded individuals to help grow the annual Sight & Sole Walkfest on March 4, 2017. More festival than walk, planning committee volunteers will be at the helm of creating a fun atmosphere with games, food, drinks, music while raising critical funds. So, if you have a few hours a month then we have a position for you!
Purpose:
The Sight and Sole WalkFest Committee Volunteers will provide support in the planning and implementing of activities and events with the goal of raising the profile of Lighthouse Central Florida and developing fundraising opportunities for the event. Event will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs.
Responsibilities:
- Attend monthly committee meetings
- Help co-ordinate the annual event
- Assist with the tasks associated with the event (i.e. organizing t-shirts, dropping off and picking up materials, advertising, etc.)
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Willing to gain an understanding of LCF vision and programs though a Blink Experience or tour
- Become a chair or co-chair of a specific committee role
- Proven organizational and leadership abilities
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Ability to generate and implement Special Events strategies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Creativity
Training:
Training and regular meetings with the Development Associate to plan activities, monitor progress and provide data, background information and problem-solving support

Time Commitment:
- 1 hour Monthly Meetings
- 1 hour Bi-weekly meetings, 6 weeks prior to the event
- Time to complete assignments that arise from the meetings.
- Event day on March 4, 2017 -agreed schedule
Age Requirement:
Must be at least 16 years of age
