ORGANIZATION: Metro Caring

Metro Caring is in need of volunteers at our welcome desk! As Denver's leading frontlines hunger-prevention organization, Metro Caring meets people's immediate need for food while also sustainably addressing the root causes of hunger and poverty. Using a multifaceted approach, Metro Caring is an innovative leader in addressing problems related to hunger, with programming offered in Healthy Food Access, Nutrition/Gardening Education, and Self-Sufficiency. Specifically, we need help at our welcome desk.

- Welcome Desk Assistant: This position is the face of Metro Caring. Volunteers will greats participant as they enter, check in participants, schedules appointments, and answers phones. It is a customer service focused position and is great for volunteers who want to interact with participants.

Schedules can be flexible and are structured into shifts, with morning shifts being 9:00a-12:30p and afternoon shifts being 12:00-3:30p, Monday-Friday.

Our fresh foods market is at the heart of Metro Caring where shoppers get to choose from an array of nutritious food based on their dietary needs and preferences. In addition we have nutrition and cooking classes, urban agriculture, community activation and community development programs.
