Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William, Inc. has volunteer opportunities to help adults within our community improve their reading, writing skills. We have a variety of students seeking our services. They are native-born Americans or immigrants who are learning English as their second language. The typical classroom or tutor-student session is two hours per week. The day and time are whatever is most convenient for you both.
If you are an adult and are interested in becoming a tutor volunteer, please contact us! Prior experience is not necessary. We will train you at our quarterly tutor training workshops. Our next Tutor Training Workshop is January 11, 2020 (8:45 AM -4:00 PM) and January 25, 2020 (9:00-12:00 noon). Attendance for both days is required. There is a one-time $50 registration fee which covers the cost of your textbook and other printed materials.
Make a difference in someone's life! We look forward to hearing from you. Please call 703-670-5702 or visit our website at: www.lvapw.org for more details.
