Catholic Charities Refugee Services needs your help to transport household furnishings from our donations warehouse to our clients' new homes! This position is extremely important to the resettlement effort - it is the first step in ensuring that our clients feel welcome and safe in their new community. When many of our clients arrive to the U.S., they come with little to no possessions, familiarity, or community; they should not have to arrive to an empty home as well. As a Move-In Volunteer, you can ensure that all of our clients have dignifying home furnishings and a positive start to their new life.
Move-ins occur as refugees arrive and are typically scheduled during the work day, so Move-In Volunteers require some flexibility. Volunteers will report times in which they are typically free, and Catholic Charities will keep their contact information on hand to schedule their service. We ask that volunteers commit to a 3 hour slot, though shorter time slots can be arranged.
Welcoming and serving diverse populations, we strive to meet human needs and respect the dignity of all persons by empowering individuals to achieve self-sufficiency through encouragement, education, and support.
