We will be doing vision screening for our students this year but we are going to need a lot of help from Roanoke and the surrounding areas to make it happen. BGCA our national organization, has graciously given us funding so that we can screen our students for any eyesight/eyewear problems they may have and to be able to give out glasses/contacts to those students who need them, but may not be able to afford them.
Our Club After-School Program in SE Roanoke serves around 125-150 students daily, so screening them all in one day is going to be a feat. We know we can accomplish this with lots of support from our local community! If you have some time to give, we would really appreciate your help and our students would too! Come out on Friday, October 21st and help us to provide eyecare for our students! An hour of your time can help our students be able to read, play, and live a better life.
