Rainforest Partnership is an Austin-based international nonprofit with a mission to protect and regenerate tropical rainforests by working with the people of the forests to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature. Tropical rainforests are the oldest and most complex land-based ecosystems on earth. By fostering collaborative partnerships directly with rainforest communities, and around the globe, we connect, create and leverage innovative opportunities to protect the forest.
We are looking for event coordinators who are interested in contributing their skills, expertise and passion to the cause of protecting rainforests and adding to the growth of an international conservation organization.
The Event Coordinator will help to coordinate and produce our annual Celebration Event as well as future local, national and international RP events.
An ideal candidate:
Is detail- and goal-oriented and a strategic thinker.
Has a creative vision and enjoys putting on events and creating impactful experiences, and always has a Plan B just in case.
Enjoys managing and organizing a variety of logistics and tasks, both daily and long-term.
Has previous event experience and has connections in food, drink, venue, party supply or various other vendors.
Can put systems into place for the organization and can improve upon current systems.
Is comfortable speaking over the phone or holding meetings with clients or the RP team.
Is responsible and can take on this volunteer position seriously, and potentially long-term.
Understands that the goals of RP’s events is to focus attention on our mission and raise money/resources to enable that mission, and to support development of our donor/partner base.
Understands that as an environmental nonprofit, event planning must include addressing both fundraising considerations and sustainability considerations.

Annual Celebration Event: Our major annual fundraiser, at which we celebrate our Rainforest Partners and our shared accomplishments in tropical rainforest protection and regeneration that their collective support makes possible.

- This year’s event to be held on November 3rd, at the Gilfillan House
- Purpose: Spotlight our impact on tropical rainforest protection, our Rainforest Partners, and generate significant revenue to continue that work on their behalf in the year to come.
