DOCENT TRAINING
INSPIRE A SENSE OF WONDER IN A CHILD Docent volunteers function as teachers and guides for the
School Support Program. Interacting with kindergarten
through sixth grade students, Docents deliver interactive
classroom presentations on Hawaiian marine life, conduct onsite
exhibit tours, and help to guide close-up observations and
hands-on interactions of specimens.
Docents work one, 3-hour shift per week on either Tuesdays,
Thursdays or Fridays for a minimum of one academic year
(October through May).
Docent Training is a 10-session course that will run from September 5 - 26, 2017. Training sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 pm.
