Previously a sugar plantation, Southdown's current purpose is to preserve history in Terrebonne parish and provide locals with a lovely backdrop for their events.

Southdown Plantation/The Terrebonne Museum is always in need of volunteers for a variety of positions and duties here. We have opportunities for everyone. We need volunteers in the Office, Gift Shop, Tour Guides, Help with Maintaining our Flower Beds, and Help at our twice annual craft show, Marketplace. We accept any type of volunteer whether it's once a year or once a week!
