Requirement: 5-10 hours/week (more if requested)

Seeking an administrative volunteer primarily for front desk-related work. Light crisis hotline work will also be involved. Position ideal for college students seeking to explore social justice and nonprofit work in a gender-based violence prevention and intervention organization. Volunteer responsibilities will include:

• Answering the main line/crisis line if a staff member is unavailable
• Administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and assisting with overall office tasks
• Greeting clients and vendors
• Other responsibilities as assigned

To qualify for this position, you must have an interest in social justice, specific to sexual violence prevention and intervention. You must also be personable and sensitive to client issues and to the work that is being done. An elevated level of maturity is needed to handle the subject matter. An in-person interview will be required and, if selected, an in-person training that will cover the basics of crisis intervention and answering the crisis line. You will also need to sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to guarantee confidentiality for our clients. We are seeking a minimum commitment of at least one semester with the option to extend.
