Fostering (Currently looking for Dog and Cat Foster Homes)

Foster caregivers provide temporary care for cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies in their own homes. Some animals need just a few weeks of foster care, while others may need longer-term foster placement. Fostering is a wonderful way for families to volunteer together, or for people who love pets but are unable to bring one into their home permanently. All our dogs are under 30 Lb. Our cat and kittens can be from 1 month to seniors.

Georgia Heartland Provides:

* All necessary medication and medical care

* Food and litter, toys, bed, crate

* Education on how to care for your foster animal

The Foster Family Provides:

* A safe and nurturing environment for your foster animal

* Socialization

* Transportation to vet appointments

You may be asked to administer oral medication.

About Georgia Heartland Humane Society

PO Box 72197, Newnan, GA 30271, US

Mission Statement

To work to end the suffering of dogs and cats resulting from abuse, neglect, ignorance and pet overpopulation. To advocate the humane treatment of animals through (1) rescue of abandoned, neglected, and abused animals; (2) a spay/neuter assistance program; (3) promoting community awareness through humane education and (4) initiation and support of positive changes in local community municipal codes and state law regarding animal protection . Many of the animals that become a part of our program would not survive without our help. We rescue injured animals that are unable to get the help they require to heal and we rescue abused animals that don't know comfort and kindness and love.

Georgia Heartland Humane Society is a nonprofit agency which receives no government assistance. Our organization relies sole ly on the generosity of the public, striving to maintain its strong fundraising efforts within the community and with area businesses and corporations. We do not operate a shelter, but offer services to the residents of our community and their companion animals. Our volunteers are passionate in their belief that all pets deserve loving families and are working towards accomplishing that goal through community service programs.
