Here at Cocoon House, our staff are passionate and resilient about working with teens. Yet, strangely enough, the skills necessary to work with and mentor youth don't always come hand-in-hand with skills in the yard.
So wouldn't-you-know, our yards are usually in need of some TLC. From our Home-like shelters in Everett, Arlington, and Monroe, to the tw, more business-like buildings we have in Everett, all our sites routinely need some help in the yard in general as well as formal gardens where we hope to grow produce and flowers.
A Landscaping/Gardening Assistants will volunteer 1-2 times a month to manage the areas around our facilities. An ideal assistant will help with planting and long-term gardening goals. Tasks would include weeding, lawn mowing, minor landscaping, raking, pruning, and watering.
