We rely heavily on our Visitor Services Volunteers to represent the museum. The Visitor Services Volunteer is the first contact for Museum visitor and it is therefore critical that the volunteer be welcoming, informed, and friendly. Applicants should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, an interest in art, and a willingness to learn about the museum.

Summary of Tasks:

  • Greeting and informing visitors in a welcoming manner
  • Required to responsibly conduct retail transactions and encourage purchases of membership, retail items, classes and donations
  • Remaining informed about museum exhibitions and events
  • Keeping the gallery and front desk neat and organized
  • Receiving and directing telephone calls
  • Assisting staff with projects as assigned, such as mailings

This volunteer position requires a minimum 6-month commitment, with a 2-hour per month commitment. Hours are very flexible during our gallery hours, Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
