Help sort and deliver resident mail to residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Get mail from Receptionist and sort by wing and room

2. Deliver mail to residents

1. Knock on door; greet residents, visitors and staff when entering the space
2. Provide excellent customer service

1. Log service hours in the volunteer binder.

TIME COMMITMENT

A minimum volunteer commitment of three months is requested. Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Saturday in the late afternoons or early evenings. This task typically takes at most 30 minutes.

SUPERVISION

The Volunteer Coordinator and Receptionist will supervise mail delivery volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Trustworthy, friendly and reliable

• Ability to be flexible and sensitive to the needs of residents, families, caregivers and staff

• Respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions and values

• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with staff and fellow volunteers.

Note: Mail is NOT delivered on Holidays.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteer applicants need to complete a disclosure form for a national criminal background check as well as submit immunization documentation for Chickenpox (Varicella), Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Tdap, (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis) TB, a yearly physical and the flu shot. Some of these requirements can be provided through St. Elizabeth’s Manor.
