We are looking for patient and empathetic individuals who wish to give their precious time to a person receiving end of life care. Hospice volunteers do everything from sitting, reading, listening, to walks and errand running for the primary caregivers who deserve a break.
We require our volunteers to attend two Saturday training sessions to become fully certified and acknowledgement that once matched with a hospice patient our volunteers can dedicate at most 4 hours a week (but it is typically 1-2 hours weekly). The volunteer chooses their patient match and will not be forced into any situation that they are not comfortable with.
If you or anyone you know is interested, please contact the King County Office or go to https://www.chifranciscan.org/health-care-services/hospice-and-palliative-care/volunteers/hospice-volunteer/ .
