Fundraising & Special Event Coordinator

Our friendly hometown museum has grown busier every year, and we are now looking for a part-time fundraising & special event coordinator. Proven success and experience in sales, fundraising, or event management is essential. The position entails working closely with the museum director, but will also require the ability to spearhead and complete successful projects without supervision. Willingness and the ability to work well with volunteers will be a key component.

To represent the museum, which also functions as a Flagler County Visitor Center, the ideal candidate will be expected to absorb and utilize the museum’s focus on history and tourism. So candidates should also have a desire to welcome and assist the general public, our retired volunteers, our members, and both existing and potential business partners in the area.

Due to the intermittent nature of special event work, the individual hired will be expected to promote and renew business memberships, be assigned to attend networking and other events in the community, as well as spend time staffing or training at the museum. Scheduling will be flexible and occur as a collaborative effort between the coordinator hired and the museum director.

Good speaking, writing, computer and customer service skills are required. Preference may be given to candidates with close proximity to the job site, or who have experience in volunteer coordination, grant management or graphic design. This job has the potential to become a part-time paid position as an independent contractor. Success in the job will ensure more hours if desired and/or the opportunity to advance.
