In our continual efforts to improve the experience of our filmmaker guests, we are seeking a well-organized team to join the Guest Services team at the Guest Check In table at the Mill Valley Filmmaker Lounge. Pre-festival you will help assemble welcome materials that empower filmmakers with the knowledge needed to navigate the festival successfully. During the festival, you will be stationed at the Guest Check In table, where you will create an immediate sense of belonging for filmmakers as they arrive, showcase your skill in providing anticipatory customer service, and share your lifelong appreciation for the beauty of Marin County with those visiting us for the first time.
This is a seasonal, unpaid volunteer position that will include pre-festival shifts assembling welcome packets and 4-hour shifts during the festival, October 6-16. Extended hours and weekend work will be required leading up to and during the Film Festival. Training days before the festival will be required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Nurture your talent for creating "wow" experiences for filmmakers from all over the world
Bond with a tight-knit core of Guest Service volunteers who share a passion for uncompromising service
Inspire the team to become the standard by which all other Guest Service departments are measured
Arrive on time for all trainings and shifts, 4-8 hours
Qualifications
Must have previous hospitality experience, preference given to film festival expertise
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Able to learn quickly and work in a very fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Professional communication skills essential

Welcome to the 40th Mill Valley Film Festival! Every October more than 500 dedicated volunteers join in our efforts to celebrate and promote film as art and education. We showcase over 200 independent and international films and events in one of the most beautiful parts in the Bay Area.
