Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop and nurture research synergy across the translational continuum (bench to bedside to community) in order to optimize progress in clinical research and thereby improve the health of our diverse and underserved community. Our department faculty place a particular emphasis on late translation, i.e. the conduct of clinical investigations and optimal implementation of new findings to the community as demonstrated by community-based research. Specific areas of research focus include: improvement of disease outcomes, healthcare quality and access, intervention dissemination and community adoption. Indeed, it is these late-stage translational studies that may have the most significant impact in an urban environment such as the Temple community. I encourage you to access our faculty resources; we look forward to new research collaborations as we seek to decrease the human cost of disease and improve health.
