Since its inception, Susan G. Komen Charlotte has made great strides in improving breast health services and reaching out to the underserved members in the local community. We have an established annual grant funding program to award local breast health organizations for innovative breast health projects in a 13-county service area. Each year Komen Charlotte invests 75 percent of net revenue raised in local outreach programs and community health grants and 25 percent in breast cancer research. Since 1997, more than $15 million has been awarded in local community health grants and nearly $5.7 million to research.
Our Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure event raises significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. Charlotte is celebrating 20 years of Race for the Cure on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Uptown at Marshall Park.
The Race for the Cure Office Assistant position will provide support to and complete specific tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and Office Manager. Administrative support can include but is not limited to email correspondence, mailings, extensive phone work, assist with Race registrations and donations, manage the Komen store, and other clerical duties. The Komen Charlotte office hours are 8:30a.m.-5:00p.m. Monday through Friday.
