  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
Uganda Smiles

iHi International supports VIPs (Vulnerable International People). We start by evaluating needs and then work to develop solutions to provide opportunities to meet those needs. After evaluating needs in the Wakiso District of Uganda, opportunities were identified for training of parents and care givers in:

  • PT/OT activities they can do with their children
  • PT/OT equipment development planning consultation
  • Behavior management
  • Individualized instructional activities of children with disabilities who do not attend school
  • Speech development activities

Assessment and determination of needs is also needed to determine recommendations.

Once in a lifetime opportunity to get outside of your comfort zone to see the world, delve in to a new culture, and help VIPs with use of your training and skills.

Volunteers will need to be vetted and an interview process with iHi International staff (remotely or in-person) is required prior to assistance with coordination of volunteer opportunity.

Dates are tentative and cost would be around $2000 - $2200USD including airfare, lodging, most food, transportation, program and administrative fees. Passport, visa, vaccination and insurance fees would be separate and will vary depending on what volunteer already has prior.

Mission Statement

iHi identifies needs and develops solutions to promote opportunities for VIPs (vulnerable international people)

Description

Founding board members created In His Image International (IHI International) in late 2014 as a nonprofit corporation in Pennsylvania. The organization was created out of our belief that all people of any race, creed, culture, national origin or beliefs, regardless of ability or disability, are created in the image of our Creator God and deserve opportunities. We are classified as a IRS 501(c)3 non-profit tax-exempt organization. Our EIN # is 47-2543904.

We meet people where they are around the globe, and provide meaningful solutions to improve their lives, and more importantly, develop short and long term connections to maintain ongoing support and equipping to build capacity. The major goal is empowerment, to create sustainable situations and personal ownership.

We focus a great deal on those living with disabilities in some of the most difficult places around the world. We identify needs and work to develop solutions such as coordination of evaluation and treatment, provision of training and seed money, and developing capacity of local collaborative partners in project countries.
