The HopeLine is a social service agency located in the South Bronx and we offer basic resources such as food and diapers, SNAP enrollment services, and classes-ESL & Civics, and Computer training.
We are a very busy organization with a high volume of clients that engage in one or more of our programs. With our participation at 4100 families at this time we consistantly busy at the front of the house.
We are looking for someone that has a warm and charismatic personality that can join our front desk crew. This person will assist us on running our Front Desk during it's busiest hours.
At the front desk you will help schedule appointments for our Diaper and Food programs, guide clients to the appropriate information they need, meet and greet clientele, and assist in data entry tasks.
The best candidate is someone who loves to smile and talk to others, someone who will not judge or discriminate against anyone. Friendly, detailed oriented, and computer literate. Must be comfortable with using a computer and fluent in both English and Spanish.
This position has 3 specific days and times but if there is only some of that time that you can do please contact us and lets see what we can work out. We are hoping this position will fit well with someone who is willing to dedicate their time ongoing.
Mondays 9:30-5pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 2-5pm

The Resource Center for Community Development, known in the community as "The HopeLine", strives on providing much-needed social services to the residents of the South Bronx, many of whom are immigrants living in what is the poorest Congressional district in the United States. Our approach is rooted in the idea of empowering the individual; we seek to provide social, psychological and moral support for our clients and to equip them with the tools they need to be able to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
Description
The HopeLine is now utilizing a threefold approach to intervene in the cycle of poverty so prevalent in the South Bronx;
1. Food Pantry to meet the most basic nutritional needs of our clients.
2. Clothing Bank to provide clothing for needy families.
3. Educational programs including Citizenship, ESL, Computer, and Nutrition classes to begin educating our neighborhood so they can create better futures for themselves and their families.
