Bailey-Boushay House is looking for volunteers who have a desire to make a difference in the lives of those with HIV/AIDS and other life altering illnesses. Our volunteers increase the quality of life of our residents and clients simply by their presence- reducing isolation, anxiety, and depression.

Volunteers are the hands and feet of Bailey-Boushay House and contribute 12 1/2 hours each day to our actvities! Volunteers assist with facilitation of daily activities, and events and are a much needed presence to those who are in their final days of life.

We are a residential care facility and outpatient facility located in Seattle that has supported those with HIV/AIDS and other life challenges for over 24 years. Bailey-Boushay House provides skilled nursing care in our 24 hour a day residential setting in our Residential Care Program and our Outpatient Program supports over 300 individuals 7 days a week, 365 days a year, living in the community who utilize the facility for medication management, meals, support groups and community building activities and outings.

We are currently looking for individuals who have registered their trained pet with Pet Partners to enhance the support to our Residential Care Program. Residents come to us with multiple medical issues including HIV/AIDS, ALS, Huntington's Disease and end stage cancers. Some are able to participate in daily activities while others are limited on their time out of their room. Most of our 35 residents truly appreicate the compassionate and unconditional love of a pet.

Pets are required to have a current certificate from Pet Partners and be updated on their vaccines. Owners of those pets are required to complete Bailey-Boushay House orientation and other "fit for duty" on-line requirements and complete a health screening (be updated on vaccines as well.)

We look forward to talking with you- and meeting your pup!
