How does one even BEGIN to help a child process the loss of someone close to them? By incorporating therapeutic activities into a FUN camping experience! Our certified Grief Counselors will facilitate the activities. Our "Buddy's" will partner with 2 kids each, supporting them, encouraging them, participating in activities with them, and giving them a listening ear! Age requirement of a Buddy is 18 and older. Perfect for Sororities, Fraternities, Social Workers, Youth Leaders, and those wanting to make a difference in a child's life!
Meet and Greet to see if serving as a Kid's Camp Buddy is for you! Our Kid's Camp is a place for children who have had a major life loss. Our weekend camp will be held in October, from a Friday night to Sunday afternoon. We will have approximately 30 children attending. Our interactive, therapeutic activities are designed to help the children process their grief, connect with others who have also had a loss, and create a safe place for them to share. Each "Buddy" will partner with 2 children. Indoor and outdoor activities planned at beautiful Lake cabin/camping site. This evening is a meet and greet and open question and answer session to find out if being a Kid's Camp Buddy is for you! All training, lodging and food costs covered by Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation
For more information please contact Veronica at 913-850-7500 or email veronica.evans@crossroadshospice.com
Dates of the camp are 3 days and 2 nights one weekend in October 2016.

Mission Statement
Crossroads is committed to being at the forefront of the hospice care industry, to continually shape the way palliative care is viewed and administered so that everyone can expect more from us.
Description
Expect More From Us. We Do. Why not? That's a questions we ask ourselves every day. In fact it is the question responsible for our beginning and has made us what we are today. Because "why not?" helps us find new and better ways to deliver hospice care to patients, families, caregivers and health care professionals alike. It helps us connect with our communities, share our knowledge, be accessible 24/7, innovate, lead and raise the bar. In fact, "why not?" has helped us create a hospice experience we believe is second to none...and are confident you'll agreee.
