At Heartland Hospice, we believe our patients should not have to pass on alone if that is not their wish. We desire to be able to provide comfort through the end including through the presence of others. Vigil volunteers provide a supportive presence for those patients who are in their final hours as well as for their loved ones. Ways of providing comfort may include reading a comforting poem, prayer, or scripture, listening to soothing music, or simply sitting quietly by the patient's bedside.
If interested, please contact Addi Clemens, Volunteer Coordinator at 757-594-8215.

Description
ProMedica Hospice provides care wherever you call home: in your house, a skilled nursing center, an assisted living facility or independent living facility. Our caregivers help create individualized care plans, set personal goals, and manage pain and symptoms. Every patient is different. With different challenges, different needs, different family and friends. So the care we give each patient is different. We treat the patient and family as a whole, providing services for body, mind, and spirit.
