Drive to Help Save Lives - Drivers Needed in the St. Louis Area

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER DRIVER TEAM!
Volunteer Drivers help the blood center by delivering blood products to service hospitals. In addition, they are very helpful with our Center/Site Pick-ups. Volunteer would begin at the Inventory Management & Distribution Department in Maryland Heights, MO and driving an ImpactLife vehicle, deliver product to an ImpactLife Service Hospital or Pick up Product that has been collected at our 2 Donor Centers. Several Opportunities are available now:

  • Every Monday; Pick up vehicle at Earth City and drive to our St. Peters donor center to pick up their day's collection (1pm or 7:30pm available). Return to Earth City to unload product.
  • Every Tuesday; Pick up vehicle at Earth City and drive to St. Peters donor center to pick up collections, arriving at 7:30 pm. Deliver back to Earth City.
  • Every Thursday; Delivery to Crystal City 8:30am. Driving a blood center vehicle, load up and deliver product to Des Peres Hospital, St. Clare Hospital and Mercy-Jefferson in Crystal City. Leave at 8:30 a.m. and return around 11:15 a.m. Thursday
  • Every Tuesday; Meet in Hamel at 11:00am to collect product from another Blood Center volunteer or employee. Ideal candidate will live close to Hamel. Can use their vehicle to transport product to Earth City Hub. Mileage is reimbursed.
***Assist the Earth City Distribution Department by being an 'on-call' volunteer between 4 - 8 pm when available. Staff would call you to make a hospital delivery for them during that time-frame. If you can, that's great. If you have plans, it's OK. You should live close to our Maryland Heights distribution department.

MASKS ARE MANDATORY . Must be at least 25 and able to pass driving background check.
Time off when needed. Volunteer Driver Polo Provided. Orientation and training at Earth City hub.

Description

The Blood Center is a volunteer-based organization that involves volunteer blood donors, a voluntary board of trustees, and community volunteers. Volunteers provide a much needed and valued service to our donors, patients and staff. We serve over 115 hospitals in 4 states and utilize volunteers from many areas to assist in our operations. Headquarters for the organization, as well as component processing, is located in Davenport, Iowa.
