Residential Treatment Program Volunteer Opportunities
For an introduction to the Rescue Mission, please consider joining us on Wednesday, September 7 at 11 a.m. for 60 Minutes at the Rescue Mission. Spend an hour with us, meet our leaders, and tour our facilities. Hear how our team is being used to rebuild broken lives through our homeless guest services and recovery programs and learn more about volunteer opportunities. Tutor: Meet regularly with a resident to increase his/her skill level in reading, math, writing or computer work. A tutor must possess basic skills in one of the above mentioned areas (weekday mornings; times vary).
Mentor: Develop a supportive and health realtionship with a resident as they walk through recovery - serving as a Christian role-model (one-hour/week commitment).
Teacher: Lead sessions on a variety of topics including life skills, career development, money management, or faith.
Recreational Activities Leader: Lead small groups of residents on walks, hikes, bike rides, or other various activities.
