ORGANIZATION: L.A. Works

L.A. Works Day is the largest celebration of service in LA. Volunteers from every neighborhood of Los Angeles come together to impact a single cause and make a difference in their community.

Event Description: On October 1, 2016 thousands of corporate and community volunteers will engage in hands-on service projects (i.e.: building gardens, benches, tables, landscaping, painting, tile mosaics, and murals) in Hollywood to enhance nonprofits, shelter facilities for youth, and public school sites with 20% of their population consisting of youth without stable housing. Volunteers will also assemble hygiene kits and other basic need distribution packets for the 11,000 LAUSD students without stable housing, and participate in interactive opportunities, including a service fair for homeless youth. Teams of volunteers participating in the day will include: elected officials; large corporations and small local businesses? schools and universities; local community members; families; and groups from the entertainment industry and sports teams.

During the day, volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about the important work of LACEYH service providers and discover new and exciting ways to contribute to their mission.

25th Anniversary Celebration of Service to L.A. During our lunch celebration, volunteers will enjoy a catered lunch provided by The Jonathan Club, live music, entertainment, and other fun activities celebrating L.A. Works 25 years of community and civic engagement in Los Angeles.

Check-in: Please arrive at 8:00 am.

Teams/Groups: Volunteers are assigned to projects on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot guarantee that your group will be able to volunteer for the same project. To increase your chance of volunteering with your group, please come early and arrive together.

Fiscal sponsorship is available for corporate teams who would like to be recognized for being a part of this 25th anniversary event and volunteer together. Email Keisa at keisa@laworks.com for more info.
