CAFE is a youth-based program which uses the performing arts at the catalyst to develop the passion and discipline for learning, leadership, and academic achievement.
The after-school program operates Monday thru Friday, 2:00pm-7:00pm. Students usually arrive by 2:15 and participate in a snack and discussion before commencing their homework. After homework, students participate in a range of activities including but not limited to yoga, music, art, chess, girl scouts and cooking with math; before being fed a hearty dinner.
Where we need your help is in mainly in the area of homework assistance. Although some students can successfully complete their homework independently, it is not the same for others. At CASA, we ensure that a responsible adult is always there to help guide all students through the homework process. Our student to tutor ratio goal for this academic year is 3:1 (2:1 even better!) We are also looking for assistance with special activities. If you (or someone you know) would like to lead an activity (Cooking, Zumba, Tai chi, Capoeira, anything!) we would love to see how we can fit it into the program whether it be a one-time activity, once a month, or once a week. Fridays are fun-Fridays at CASA and we are always looking for fun, yet educational activities for the students to participate in.More opportunities with CULTURAL ACADEMY FOR EXCELLENCE INC
