Helping

We have positions available for caring individuals to work with hospice patients, or to work in the office volunteering to help the field staff care for our patients. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring compassion and companionship to someone in need. Your reward will be the look of gratitude from your patient as you walk in the door.

You can volunteer in the patient's home, or in their place of residence, whether nursing home, asssited living, retirement center. You choose the time and day to volunteer.

Ongoing training is provided.

Mission Statement

Mission Statement: Hospice is dedicated to the provision of palliative care to the terminally ill who (1) meet the eligibility requirements and (2) elect to receive this service. This care is aimed at the reduction of physical, psychological, social and spiritual suffering of the patients and their families before, during and after death. The central Hospice goals are to help the terminally ill persons to live out their remaining days with the greatest possible freedom from pain and anxiety; to assist them in maintaining their personal sense of self worth and to contribute to their quality of life. These goals are accomplished through an interdisciplinary team that provides nursing, medical, social, emotional and spiritual support under professional guidance and supervision. At the heart of the program are the volunteers who give their time and love, either directly to the patients and families, or for their many other supportive services.

Description
