PurposeTo continually develop a annual grant-seeking plan and along with submitting 7 grant proposals.
Description
Passion Impact seeks enthusiastic and dynamic Grant Writers who will be responsible for developing and writing winning grant proposals. The proposal will be designed to secure funding from public institutions, private foundations, corporations, and other grant-making entities to support and implement all aspects of the organization. The Grant Writing Intern will possess exemplary writing and communication skills and will persuasively convey Passion Impact’s intended support needs to potential funders. In addition Our ideal interns will be responsible for reporting to the Executive Director, collaborating to develop strategies, crafting narratives, and assembling and submitting grant requests.
Required Education
Recent graduate (within 1 year) or currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in communication, english, writing, or relevant field preferred.
Desired Skills
Previous grant writing experience preferred
Excellent grammar and strong research skills
Ability to work well under pressure
Proactive communication skills with the ability to synthesize information in a compelling and succinct form
A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposal and grant procurement
Team Player
Proficient in Google Drive (Particularly Google Forms and Google Sheets or MS Excel) Google Calendar, Meistertask, MindMeister, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and/or ability to learn technology at a fast pace
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Enthusiastic about Passion Impact’s mission and team focused
Duties
Read all grant proposals that Passion Impact has submitted
Conduct the full range of activities required to conceptualize, write, submit, and manage grant proposals
Maintain submission calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports
Work with the President to collect and create relevant financial budgets
Research prospective capacity building and programmatic grants and update the application calendar
Maintain records in Salesforce including grant tracking and reporting
Serve on our Portland Advisory Board Community & Partnerships Committee
Complete an Internship Portfolio that includes a personal reflection and a presentation
Commitment
February 4, 2017 - June 11, 2017 (possibility to extend based on performance and project availability)
Must Attend February 4, 2017 Training
Must attend weekly office meetings Monday 9-10 AM and Friday 12:30-1:30 PM
Compensation
As a small grassroots organization we do not currently have funding to compensate interns. If you are a student and qualify for workstudy at PCC or PSU, we will gladly work with your college or university to make sure that you receive compensation for your time devoted to Passion Impact. We are also happy to help you receive course credit.
