Position Summary:

Open Hearts Internships are designed to expand the depth and breadth of learning for students in their particular areas of study and / or professionals who want to share their skills and "give back" to an incredibly worth cause. This internship can heighten awareness of community issues impacting mental health and community healthcare needs, embrace new ideas, and give direction to positive change.

Open Hearts is looking for a tech savvy, dynamic intern to help support the marketing efforts of our organization and administrative assistance on special projects. This unpaid position is part-time and hours are flexible. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of non-profit development and marketing.

Essential Functions (duties):

1. Assist in writing content for monthly newsletter for:
a. The public focused on mental healthcare and
b. Internally for the company focused on the mission, vision and values
2. Assist in writing polished brief client "success stories"
3. Assist in interviewing staff to collect success stories.
4. Assist in creating slide shows and video promo's of success stories in Adobe Spark, Power Point and Youtube.
5. Assist in collecting, managing and developing content for social media accounts and website
6. Creativity, leadership, motivation and alignment with the Open Hearts purpose.

Minimum Education and Experience: Active student in Bachelor’s or Master’s program preferably in marketing, communications, non-profit management or other related major; or a professional with resume and experience demonstrating ability to write and create content for digital media.

Prerequisites:

  • Possess an Arizona driver’s license and state mandated auto insurance.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must posses own equipment to perform / complete projects: Internet access, computer

Competency (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable working with Zoom, Facetime, Skype, Adobe applications, Microsoft applications
  • Writing skills: Able to write compelling content, understanding of the audience and mission
  • Flexible, self-motivated, deadline driven
  • Excited to be a part of the noble work at Open Hearts Family Wellness to improve the health of our community!
