Interlock Media, Inc. located near Google in Kendall Square, MA, is an activist film company that points to solutions for environmental, human rights and public health challenges. We support informed policy by producing entertaining documentary and dramatic media works.

We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic Social Media & Content Strategist to forward our mission, and grow as a member of a team. You will develop our social media and online marketing presence in service of Interlock’s mission and goals. Volunteers will be responsible for creating and managing social media posts and blog posts, monitoring social media activity to determine whether goals are being met, performing research for measuring response and developing additional social media and marketing strategies, plus other tasks in support of Interlock Media’s current and upcoming projects. We currently have a world-class documentary and one low-budget feature in production, as well as a series of multichannel shorts.

Interlock Media is bursting into the world of social media and user experience with a great big plus. We have excellent content and a large national network and top notch social media practitioners who can enrich your experience. Watch your skills grow along with the organization's brand. Help us reach out to the audiences affected by climate change through your work.

Prior study in a program for social media, digital media, marketing, graphic design, writing, web development is a plus.

The following skills and experience are preferred:

  • Major social media platforms and traffic measurement tools such as Facebook Insights and Google Analytics and social media management tools such as HootSuite.

  • Familiarity with Graphic Design and Web Design, including Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Content Management Systems and HTML.

  • Writing, blogging, community management a plus.

We applaud excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude. Applicant should possess the ability to work independently, remain flexible and take initiative in a resource-limited environment.

For our part, we are dedicated to your hands on training and participation from day one.

Hours: Min. 20 hours/week. Additional hours are welcomed. Position is typically 4 months.

Compensation: None.

Location: Working on site is preferred. Convenient access to public transportation and just across the river from Boston.

Description

Interns participate in all aspects of film and media production, including: research writing coordination of crews participation in shoots participation in film editing scriptwriting production of print materials any task that may arise

Salary: None Qualifications:

Interns must have strong communication skills, a desire to learn, and a pro-active attitude. The following skills and experience are preferred, but not required: superior writings skills technical ability computer skills (mac platform) experience with camera, lighting, or other gear.
