Program Coordination Internship:

Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordinator Intern helps Program Director and Program Manager with interacting and supporting the Community Department's faculty, students, school administrators, and alumni to support the mission and the goals of the Department and its programs.
  • Assist the Program Director and Program Manager with identifying, evaluating, and proposing solutions to program areas that need special attention.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities and follow research in the mentor field; Make weekly contact with matched volunteers.
  • Help with ensuring that the Community Department's Program activities operate within the policies and procedures of our non-profit organization.
  • Assist with coordinating and completing all of the necessary paperwork related to the internship and volunteer opportunity.
  • Assist Program Manager with program evaluation activities, including student and site supervisor feedback.
  • Assist with special projects and perform intern-related duties as assigned.
  • Take a role in community collaborations and developing supplemental support services for youth, including the lead in the Mentor Group.
  • Help Program Manager with organizing, and coordinating a professional development workshops for volunteers and interns to enable and ensure success in internship and volunteer settings.
  • Maintain effective communication within the Community Department and other I'RAISE departments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or is working towards Program Management, Business Management, or a degree in Human Services, Childhood Education or related fields.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of problem-solving, meeting deadlines, taking the initiative and making well-informed decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment through changing priorities and demanding timelines

Hours and Commitment: 10 + hours per week for 6 months

Location: Hybrid: Must be from Seminole City, Florida.

Type: Unpaid Volunteer-Intern Position. For college fieldwork credit purpose. Reach out to your program field department to inquire if this role meets the criteria for a fieldwork credit.

I’RAISE Boys & Girls International Corporation is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization in New York City founded in 2012. We have been providing free tutoring, mentoring and coaching services, virtual performance classes, college preparation program, nutrition workshops, and parent education program. As a minority led non-profit organization with leaders that are women of colors, we feel so much pride and we are so proud being able to provide beneficial resources to the children in under-resourced areas in New York City in-person and multiple-states virtually. And we have been successful in providing these services because of our volunteers.
