About One Tree Sanctuary

Location:

Mission Statement

One Tree Sanctuary was organized to rescue and provide sanctuary to farmed animals, and to educate the public on sustainable agricultural systems for the mutual benefit of animals, plants, and people.

Description

The primary activity of One Tree Sanctuary is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide on-going care for abused and neglected farmed animals. The secondary, but equally important, activity is to incorporate these farmed animals into an agroforestry practice that integrates livestock, agriculture and forage production, and forest farming on the same land. Educating the public on this type of sustainable farming method that embraces compassion for farmed animals while also demonstrating the immense benefit created for all by the synergetic relationship between plants, animals, and people is the third key activity. Note that no animals will be culled for food production; rather, each animal will become part of a living system that fosters respect for all living creatures and promotes positive impact on animal welfare as well as the environment.
