WAN is looking for several volunteers to assist with our social media channels. Whether you are a social media expert or looking to expand your skills, we are happy to have you!
As one of WAN's social media coordinators, you will assess available social media analytics, produce and curate new content, and post content with the oversight of staff, with a focus on expanding WAN's following on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. We also welcome volunteers who have an interest in expanding WAN's presence to other networks that may benefit and be consistent with WAN's mission.
REQUIREMENTS:
A solid understanding or willingness to learn about animal protection issues, including wildlife, farm animals, animal experimentation, companion animals, working animals, etc. Understanding the need to balance professionalism with expressing personality on social media, and an understanding of WAN's audience and how best to communicate with them.
SCHEDULE AND TIME COMMITMENT:
Social media volunteers will need to commit to 2-5 hours per week for analyzing the past week's success, and planning and scheduling the following week's posts. However, this work can be completed as it fits in with the volunteer's schedule and when is most convenient for them.

- By providing resources to animal protection organizations on public policy, humane education, effective campaigning, collaboration and coalition building, and more. By providing these resources we empower organizations to work more effectively, address the root causes of animal suffering and create sustainable positive change in the treatment of animals.
- By advocating for animals on an international level at the World Organisation for Animal Health, the United Nations, the World Bank, and more.
The majority of WAN's outreach occurs online, which is why volunteers who can help us expand our online presence and connect with the organizations we serve are crucial to our mission. We truly appreciate our volunteers and are so grateful for their support.
