Volunteers needed to support male and female clients with acquired brain injury (ABI)
There are two locations in St. Catharimnes.
Volunteers may engage with clients in social visiting, arts and crafts, sports, or coffee outings in the community. Scheduling is flexible and positions are based on volunteer interests, geographical location, and availability.
Brain Injury Services experience provides excellent skill-building opportunities as volunteers become familiar with: limit setting; de-escalation; and professional rapport.
(Please note there is a mandatory initial attendance requirement of six weeks.)

Description
Brain Injury Services/Step Up! ABI Recovery is a community-based rehabilitation service for individuals who have sustained a brain injury. The agency provides a full-range of integrated services including 24-hour residential care as well as community outreach services.
The agency can treat any brain injury, from mild to catastrophic, and currently serves approximately 200 clients who are realizing achievements in work, volunteerism, leisure/recreation activities and academic pursuits.
