Sugar Sand Park Community Center holds many large and smaller scale events throughout the year. Shriek Week is a family Halloween event during the last two weekends of October. It includes haunted houses and family entertainment throughout the night.

Positions for Shriek Week, as well as other events, may include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as a Halloween character, and/or a mascot character for other events;
  • Running or assisting with make & take craft booths;
  • Running or assisting with carnival games;
  • Specialty skills like glitter tattoos, face painting, or balloon art;
  • Taking tickets or helping put on wristbands;
  • Event preparation or break down - i.e cutting crafts, set up/break down, or help with decorations;
  • Assisting or directing the public
  • Working with kids and families

Volunteers must be 14+, and can get all forms, and Shriek Week details at http://www.sugarsandpark.org/shriek-week

Description

Sugar Sand Park Community Center (SSPCC) opened in September of 1998 and has continued to evolve as a recreational, educational and entertainment facility. Serving over 350,000 people annually, SSPCC is also the home of the Willow Theatre and Children’s Science Explorium. Special events, pavilion rentals, carousel rides, permit sales, as well as numerous programs and specialty camps round out the diverse array of services provided by this 32,000 square foot recreation venue.
