LifeSmart Education is seeking a Program Coorder to assist the Program Manger with overseeing the LifeBridge Mentoring Program. This mentoring program was created to support at-risk youth in developing 21 st Century Life and Career Skills in partnership with schools, nonprofits and businesses. Program activity begins September 2016 through July 2017.

Scope of Work Overview

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Manager to oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of youth mentoring program, including planning, organizing, liaison between schools and organization, assist with leading, and controlling program activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:

Plan the program

  • Help plan the logistics of mentor and mentee trainings, orientations and group activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization and the mentoring program
  • Assist with developing and implementing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program
  • Assist with program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement

Help to organize the program

  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the national mentoring organization
  • Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant professional standards
  • Edit forms and documents to be used for program activities
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization.

Assist with staff and the program

  • In consultation with the Executive Director, help to recruit, interview and help to select well-qualified mentors to work with mentees
  • Ensure that personnel files for the program are properly maintained and kept confidential
  • Establish and implement a performance management process for all program staff
  • Help coordinate program activities for mentor volunteers and mentees
  • Ensure that all volunteer mentors and mentees receive appropriate orientation, background checks and training before participating in the program
