Project Development

HFH of Sonoma County is seeking a Project Development VISTA who will help to evaluate the affiliate's data needs for all of their programs, research and develop appropriate data systems, implement these systems and trouble shoot for problems as they develop. As ongoing data system evaluation continues, this VISTA member will embed a functional and responsive data system organization wide. In the first phase of his/her service year, this member will focus on exploring similar affiliates and organizations and the data systems they use and find most useful. This member will then develop a plan for the affiliate's data systems and implement it organization wide. After the program has been extant, this member will then focus on the ongoing evaluation and sustainability of the affiliate's data systems.

Member Activities Include:

  1. Develop new systems and programs that will increase the efficacy of our data management.
  2. Develop methods to increase effectiveness of data management including presentations, materials and systems Develop systems to accurately track and record project related data, focused on ensuring sustainability. Develop evaluation tools that will assist in projecting and assessing project impact.
  3. Formulate results and present to key stakeholders to establish direction of project.
  4. Develop all processes, materials, and procedures for project.

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills required for this position

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to meet host site’s insurance requirements.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word/Excel)
  • Knowledge of, and willingness to promote, the mission and activities of Habitat for Humanity and AmeriCorps
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Experience working as a member of a team
  • Knowledge of community development practices preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • A second language is highly desirable, with preferred language being Spanish

Requirements to serve at this site:
18 years of age or older
U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent (or agree to work towards one while serving)
Confirm understanding that this is a full-time volunteer opportunity and that AmeriCorps members receive a small living allowance
Driver's license required
Personal vehicle required
