Volunteer Fair Mentors
Purpose:
To coach student leaders who are planning a Volunteer Fair at their school by providing your expertise and mentorship.
Description : Passion Impact is searching for volunteer mentors who have experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, volunteer coordination, accounting, and administrative work. Mentors will be responsible for knowing our Volunteer Fair Program inside and out and providing advice to student leaders in their area of expertise. It is important that Project Mentors not only believe in our Golden Circle, but are also invested in the students’ success including executing weekly checkpoints to make them accountable their goals.
Fields for Mentors:
Marketing - Accounting - Fundraising - Event Planning - Customer Service - Project Management - Administration
Mentors will commit to attending weekly Sunday meetings for 10 weeks and to be available to answer questions to students via email and phone throughout the week as needed.
Objectives:
- Provide advice and mentorship to student volunteers in your area of expertise
- Help prepare students to build a Volunteer Fair
- Bring about community within the leadership team
- Build and maintain positive relations with students, administration, and the school as a whole
Duties:
- Pass Verified Volunteers Background Check
- Attend a Passion Impact training
- Attend 10 Sunday meetings to mentor and provide advice to students
- Prepare all resources and materials for each meeting with the students
- Communicate with PI officers and staff about progress of the program
- Be available via email and/or phone throughout the week to coach and provide advice to students
- Provide feedback to students to help them evaluate their progress and ways to improve the program
- Support the students’ efforts by attending the Volunteer Fair (if your work schedule allows)
Experience and Skills Desired:
- Positive communication through email, phone, Skype, and face-to-face
- Professional and/or volunteer experience in marketing, fundraising, events planning, volunteer coordination, or database management
- Team player
- The ability to commit to attending 2 hour meetings on Sunday evenings for approximately 10 weeks.
Requirements
- Minimum Commitment of 10 weeks (Dates depend on Volunteer Fair schedule)
- Pass a Background Check
