. Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for the recruitment, orientation and retention of volunteers. This position provides volunteer support for: Food Pantry, Vocational and Educational Department, Administration, Family Assistance, Distribution and Processing Center, Old Town Warehouse, reSale by CCA, Facilities, Seasonal Programs, and Golden Angels. The Volunteer Manager is also responsible for maintaining the Court-Ordered Community Service Program.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Represent CCA in a positive, pleasant manner by providing excellent customer service at all times. Serves as a role model and adheres to Standards of Behaviors. Handles requests and concerns in a friendly, fair and impartial manner. Supports the Ministries mission, vision and values

- Develop volunteer position descriptions

- Community outreach to find volunteers

- Interview and match volunteers to CCA’s needs and opportunities

- Run background checks for volunteers interested in working with CCA Angels

- Conduct orientation for volunteers and community service workers

- Schedule individual and confirm volunteer commitment

- Schedule individual and group volunteers

- Create volunteer program materials (flyers, applications, registration forms, time sheets)

- Manage volunteer database and CSW database

- Run monthly volunteer reports

- Work with service directors in developing and implementing project plans that require volunteer help

- Connect with various organizations: schools, businesses, churches, etc.

- Provide site tours to potential volunteers

- Plan annual volunteer banquet

- Communicate with probation officers as needed to solve service inquiries

- Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities.

- Customer Service - demonstrate the ability to respond with a high degree of urgency to the needs & requests of others, internally and externally. Understand the impact of their work on others.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:

- Volunteer Management or appropriate related experience

- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking

- Highly organized

- Ability to prioritize big picture ideas and execute into tangible actions

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the public

- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse variety of individuals

- Experience with Windows-based donor / volunteer software

- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills

- Experience in VolunteerHub preferred

CCA was started in 1973 by seven young adults in a Bible study group committed to volunteer efforts in order to create a stronger community. Today, we continue to rely on volunteers to help us do our daily work and are blessed by the generosity of all of our many volunteers. From answering phones and assisting with mailings, to working the checkout in CCA's Food Pantry, to serving as a doctor or nurse in our health center, CCA is a wonderful place for individuals, businesses and organizations to give generously of their time, talents and compassion.
