ORGANIZATION: CASA of San Joaquin County

CASA of San Joaquin County is looking for community volunteers to help us run our 2nd Annual Superhero 5K Run and Health and Wellness Fair at Lodi Lake on Saturday October 1st, 2016.

There are many volunteer positions available, we need lots of help setting up and taking down booths and equipement, during the event we need lots of help with running booths, registering runners, crowd control, kids games and activities, passing water to participants during the run... There are positions available for almost everyone.

This is a great opportunity to earn community service credit, you can volunteer with your friends and family or as an entire group or club (school groups and clubs interested in running a kid activity and promoting your club or group at a booth in Superhero Alley are also encouraged to inquire).

Anyone interested in volunteering during our event should respond with your name and email address, please include the type of job you are interested, if you are not able to commit to the entire time of our event, please indicate a time frame or roughly how long you will be availble on October 1st. (we need volunteers starting around 6am until about 12 noon)..

This is a really fun event benifitting CASA and the foster youth of San Joaquin County. Come and support CASA's 2nd Annual Superhero 5K Run event, 'Because, every kid needs a hero but foster kids need SUPERHEROES!'

CASA of San Joaquin County recruits and trains volunteers of the community who are appointed by the judge to serve as officers of the juvenile court and advocate; in court, at home and at school for the very best interest of the foster youth in San Joaquin County. When reunification is no longer a possibility, CASA’s overall goal is to find each foster youth a safe and permanent home with loving and supportive individuals.

CASA of San Joaquin County works closely with HSA Child Welfare Services, the Superior Court of San Joaquin County, SENECA and the Juvenile Probation Department of San Joaquin County in order to access unique resource services and programs that allow us to support our youth further in Recidivism Reduction, extended family finding and preparing for transitions into adulthood.

Description

CASA - A Powerful Voice in a Child's Life
