Masa is seeking a dedicated volunteer to provide help and support at our After-School Pre-K Playgroup hosted at our South Bronx community center.
Masa's After-school Pre-K Playgroup operates on Mondays from 6 PM-8PM. At the program, students ages 3-5 participate in free-play activities to develop their school-readiness, cognitive, social-emotional and early literacy skills.
Masa's 2016-2017 After-School Pre-K Playgroup Program (PKP) will start on September 19th, 2016 and run through early June 2017. Volunteers will be admitted on a roll-in basis.
Requirements are as follows:
- Ability to volunteer consistently for on Monday (6 PM - 8 PM)
- Able to commit to volunteering for the 2016-2017 academic year (college students who will leave NYC in May will be considered). Consistency when working with children is key to success!
- Willingness and ability to serve as an activity facilitator for students in ages 3 to 5.
- Great cooperation, team work and communication skills.
- Disposition to learn and be coached by our Pre-K Playgroup Leader.
- Attend Masa trainings and events (provided advance notice and multiple options for scheduling).
- Provide feedback on student progress and/or concerns to Masa staff.

Description
Masa provides after-school and mentorship services to students of Mexican descent living in or near the South Bronx. The organization relies heavily on the work of volunteers to serve the varied needs of students involved in the program.
