Public Workshops and Outreach Coordinator--Volunteer

Volunteer Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate ECA’s Community Weatherization Workshops:

   (Note: ECA provides up to 100 workshops each year at schools, community organizations, and places of worship Applicant does not need to be an energy efficiency expert, just demonstrate an interest in the subject and willingness to learn.)

   1. Market, schedule and coordinate the workshops.

   2. Provide workshops to instruct low-income families on how to install air sealing and other measures to reduce energy consumption in their homes.

   3. Document attendance and tabulate the results of the workshops.

   4. Manage the workshop inventory and coordinate materials pickup and delivery with the neighborhood energy centers

2. Conduct outreach and tabling at community events. As part of the Community Programs department, outreach to the community will be a big focus.

   1. Learn about ECA’s programs, other energy-related programs, and energy efficiency in order to answer questions from community members, social workers, and other stakeholders at tabling events.

   2. Attend community events as ECA’s representative and take part in community groups, outreach, and meetings on behalf of ECA.

3. Assist with event planning for ECA’s annual Sustainability Conference, Cool Block Contest, and any other organizational events

   1. Event planning will include participation in planning meetings, administrative tasks, communications marketing of the event, outreach to both invitees and press via email and social media, and day of support.

4. Supporting the Community Programs Department

   1. Research new funding and contract opportunities

   2. Conducting research as needed to support new and existing programs

   3. Performing administrative tasks as needed to support the department

   4. If the Fellow has other special skills to offer that may be a good fit for ECA, or would like to develop other skills or areas of expertise during their term we are very open to facilitating those opportunities and encouraging professional development during this learning experience.
