New Vision Organization is searching for a dedicated, and motivated individual to lead a face-paced organization, serving hundreds of people around the country.

New Vision Organization, is a national-advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the rights of incarcerated men, women, and children throughout the United States. We get hundreds of requests every month and are determined to serve every one of these individuals. We need help making that goal a reality.

The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for developing the SOP, maintaining internal communication, and serving as a cornerstone of the executive team.

Some general duties of the VP, Operations may include:

  • Ensure that the strategic objectives laid by the CEO & COO are being met by the staff

  • Assist in assigning duties to staff members

  • Coordinate the internal communication system, and conduct monthly staff meetings

  • Upon notification of the Director of Human Resources, conduct new-hire training

  • Develop the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), as well as other operational policies and procedures, and update these document as needed

  • Ensure that staff members are fulfilling their responsibilities on time

  • Serve as a integral member of the executive team, and assist in overseeing the success of the organization

  • Assist the Chief Operating Officer as needed


This is a great role for a qualified, passionate, and committed individual. We would like our VP, Operations to have the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of an associates degree in a related field

  • Previous experience in a management role, and expertise in supervision

  • A minimum of 10 hours to commit to the New Vision Organization a week

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal, communication skills

  • The ability to motivate and inspire volunteers and staff members

  • A genuine dedication to protecting the rights of human beings

  • Knowledge in Google Applications and Microsoft Office

  • A creative, hardworking and honest personality

  • Not afraid to tell people when they're doing something wrong, and being told that you're doing something wrong

The mission of New Vision Organization is to improve the quality and quantity of rehabilitation and healing for the incarcerated men, women and youth, while advocating for individuals on Death Row, serving life without parole, long-term and soon to be released individuals. NVO also networks with other groups and organizations, nationwide, to assure that prisoners' rights are not violated.

Description

NVO works to provide consistency, emotional support and stability for prisoners and we support prisoners and their families in the rehabilitation, freedom and unification process. We provide extensive research for aftercare resources, free educational correspondence courses, probono legal advocacy and numerous other supportive services. In addition. to promoting the enhancement of higher standards of moral conduct to both prisoners and staff members. To provide extensive services and networking that will involve members in the community in addition to law students, public relations volunteers, staff and prisoners inside and outside the prison setting. To work together in unity in order to reunite families and eliminate crime. We also promote and provide, education to the public around the severe issues of prison abuses, deprivations, mail tampering and destruction, lack of Rehabilitative/Therapeutic programs for prisoners and medical neglect.
