Veteran 2 Veteran Program
Here are some of the Veteran's our V2V program has honored with our Veteran pinning program.

Veteran to Veteran (V2V) volunteers have the honor of supporting a military veteran nearing end of life. V2V volunteers share a special connection to our patients that only those with military experiences can offer. V2V volunteers visit military veteran patients and engage in life review, companionship, and caregiver respite. They may also take part in special pinning ceremonies for veterans acknowledging their service and sacrifice.

Gift of Hospice provides services to our patients wherever they call home, whether it be a private residence or a skilled nursing facility, throughout all of San Diego County. Our mission is to give patient and family empowered care, preserving dignity and providing comfort.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care (i.e. changing a diaper, dispensing medications, etc.), you only provide companionship and socialization.

NO previous hospice experience is necessary!! We provide a comprehensive 20 hour training as well as ongoing education and support.

Per Medicare guidelines all volunteers must pass a drug screen, 2 step TB test, and background check (at no cost) in addition to orientation classes.
