LnF Dog Rescue Adoption Center is based in New Castle DE, 19720. We have over 10 years of experience in being a foster-based rescue. We’ve rescued 455 dogs to date, but we would love to increase those numbers dramatically which is why we’re seeking short-term 2-4-week foster homes to save the lives of homeless pups/dogs who end up in kill shelters. Generally, dogs end up in shelters through no fault of their own. There is nothing wrong with our rescued dogs - they were just unlucky enough to have an irresponsible former owns.

There are no costs to foster and the rewards of helping save the life of a homeless dog are priceless. Simply put, we can save more lives that continue to be lost every day - if we have more temporary homes to care for them until they find their permanent family are able to find them.

All LnF pups/dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchips & housebroken & crate trained by the founder before they are put in foster care. All items needed to care for a dog/puppy including food, crates, heartworm medications and emergency veterinary care is provided by LnF Dog Rescue.

LnF is noted for providing extensive temperament testing & guarantees our rescued pups/dogs have sweet & gentle dispositions, love people & get along with other dogs. They may or may not enjoy the company of cats or children, but that is determined by the Founder/Director & noted on a dog’s profile.

LnF is unique in that we give our foster families 100% autonomy when it comes to choosing the family for their foster dog. The rescue checks the adoption applications, which have very strict adoption requirements, but YOU get to pick their family - after the dog does of course. As an experienced Foster Mom (I’ve personally fostered over 400 pups & dogs in my home) I know you need to know in your heart that your foster dog will be the luckiest dog in the world to spend the rest of its life with this family. There can be no reservations whatsoever. If there is, on your say so - the adoption will not take place. You only need to tell me that you are not comfortable with the family for whatever reason & I will notify the family.

Foster families are asked to spend time socializing, playing & working on basic training, sit, stay, down, walking on a leash, etc. Your detailed evaluation of their behavior in a day to day setting will help us place them in the perfect home for their needs & that of their potential permanent family. After some time together we ask that you begin to take them on short car rides. Sometimes dogs become car sick & we need to know that because some pet guardians LOVE to take their dogs everywhere they go. If that’s the case for the sake of the dog & the potential family, we would not want to adopt a dog who doesn’t do well on car rides.
